Five Ingredient Fudgy Brownie Recipe (Dairy-Free)

5 Ingredient Fudgy Brownies Finished

I am all about simple.  With three littles that rule our house I get about ten minutes max before I have to stop almost anything I am working on.  Brownies are one of those scrumptious desserts that I can whip up in just a few minutes and everyone is happy!  (Including myself!)

The great thing about brownies is they are easy to make dairy-free (or even egg or gluten-free).

The kids have been asking for me to make a cake lately, so when they asked for brownies for breakfast, I caved and decided I would make a batch today. This is a super simple recipe and while you can add other ingredients to spice them up a bit, they are still delicious just the way they are!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sweetener (sucanat, white, brown or a combo)
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil or canola oil
  • 2 eggs or vegan alternative
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 Tablespoons of water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF and lightly oil a 9X9 or 8X8 pan.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together your sweetener, oil, and eggs until completely combined.
  3. Stir in the flour, cocoa powder and water.  Stir it until it is just until combined. Being careful not to over mix. The batter will be thick and slightly lumpy.
  4. Spoon your mixture into your prepared pan and smooth it out.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 23-25 minutes until them are set and a toothpick that is inserted comes out clean.
  6. Now the hard park, allow them to cool before cutting!

Up until recently, I have never made baked goodies without salt but don’t let that stop you.  They are actually really delicious!  You can spice things up by adding a pinch of salt (no more than 1/2 teaspoon), vanilla, chopped nuts, coconut, mini chocolate chips or even a swirl of peanut butter.

This recipe will create a delicious fudgy brownie.  A recipe for a cakey brownie is soon to follow.

Do share, what do you drink with your brownies?
