Rocking in the Comfort of Green @KalsoEarthShoes Review #ngfamily

Can you say LOVE!  That is what I thought when I start to drool over the shoes on the Kalso Earth Shoes site!  I am all about comfort with my shoes, even above looks!  With Kalso Earth Shoes there is no need to compromise either!  They are so my taste, earthy and beautiful, but yet designed so well that you may actually feel better as a result!

What?  Yes, the shoes actually sport what is termed a “Negative Heel”.  Let me explain.  Have you ever walked barefoot in the sand?  You know it feels amazing, right.  It isn’t just because you are at the beach or that you are actually taken over by the enormous beauty of the vast ocean.  Actually, because of the effects of your heel being slightly imbedded lower than your toes, you are naturally positioning your body over the frame to redistribute your body weight naturally, thus causing less pressure and joint stress.  Who knew?

About the Creator-Anne Kalsø

She was born in Denmark in 1905. Her life was defined by the fundamental belief that wellness principles could be wholly integrated as part of an everyday existence. As a Yoga instructor during her studies in Brazil, she observed the excellent posture of indigenous Brazilians, and the impressions left by their bare footprints as they walked through beach sand.  She observed that the heel left a slightly deeper impression than the toe.  It reminded her of a yoga pose she was quite familiar with, the ‘Mountain’ pose.  Deciding she would follow in the footprints of the natives, she recognized that her own posture improved.

Once she returned home, it took over ten years with the assistance of a Portuguese shoemaker to actually design the original Kalso shoe.   The first launch of the Kalso shoes was back on April 1st, 1970, the first official Earth Day celebration.  The official Kalso shoe was relaunched with Earth, Inc. in 2001.  Focusing on their sustainability, in 2004 Earth, Inc. was one of the first shoe companies to introduce water-based adhesives throughout 100% of its line.

The Original Wellness Shoe. Designed By Nature. Created By Kalsø.

I can attest to actually having improved posture and feeling less low back discomfort while wearing my Kalso Earth Shoes.  I selected the Empire style to try out.  Beautiful, I know!  Each strap is adjustable for the perfect fit!  I love the beautiful blends of earthy colors and the added detail designs.  I can not in words truly convey the comfort.  The first few minutes seemed a little odd.  You notice a difference in just the first few steps you take, but the difference is for the better!

You have got to check out their fall line, and their boots are just gorgeous!  The Empire sandals that I received retail at $149.  As my blog title describes me well, I have never paid that amount for shoes.  These are truly worth every penny!  Now I just need to start saving for some winter boots!  I love The Central Park and The Shannon styles!

  1. I’m just beginning to experience foot pain – which my husband is always happy to point out ot me is because I refused to purchase anything but “cheap shoes” all those years.. Hey, what can I say, when budgets are tight you do whatever you can get by with…..having said that, I guess it is time to treat my feet better, and these shoes look like they would do just that. Thanks for alerting me to this company.

  2. These are really cute.
I like that they are designed so that you feel less low back discomfort while wearing them.

  3. I have been wanting to try a pair of these but they are out of our budget for now! 🙁 They look so comfy!

  4. I feel like its impossible to find comfortable and cute in the same shoe. A lot of the ones in this style are so blinggy it makes me cringe. Im more into earth mama looking shoes like these.

  5. I’ve never heard of Kalso Earth Shoes. i love that they are so comfortable, i definitely would love to try them , especially now 38 weeks pregnant i’m always looking for comfort without sacrificing style! Thanks for the information! 🙂

  6. I won a pair of Kalso Earth Shoes from another blog and they look like hiking shoes. They are comfortable! I used to wear Earth shoes in college back in the 70s and loved them then. I’m even reusing the cool box they came in to store my pottery stamps.

  7. This sounds like a great concept. I’d be interested in trying it out to see if it actually helps with comfort!

  8. I love the idea of that negative heel, it seems it would be much more comfortable while wearing sandals. The pair you picked out are gorgeous!

  9. I would love a pair of these shoes! They’re cute, they sound awesome and I need to wear really good shoes because I’m diabetic and bad shoes lead to a lot of problems for diabetics.

  10. They sound awesome. I agree with you on the comfort over all else. The fact that she took 10 years to design the shoe says a lot. I would love to try these.

  11. I have never tried these shoes although I have a friend who has them. I like The Rhyme in black! Thank you for the giveaway.
