Life doesn’t ever seem to slow down. We can plan, we can do all we can to stay healthy, but life happens! And it seems that most things tend to go wrong at all the wrong times! Inconveniences do not happen at convenient times, otherwise it wouldn’t be called an inconvenience. With three young children, things seem to happen more often nowadays. Since we live in a rural area, we don’t have a lot of options when it comes to after hour care, actually, we have one option, the emergency room. Unfortunately I have been there more than I would care to, ever. Walgreens Healthcare Clinic St. Louis is the closest Walgreens location with an in store Healthcare Clinic with extended hours.
Staying healthy is key to being happy. What parent doesn’t long to see their family have both, happiness and health? I may not be able to control the fact that there will be many bumps, bruises and scrapes along the way, but I can control have we handle all of them. It is amazing how many times that bandaids and kisses can fix everything. For those times that Mama’s kisses can not, Walgreens Healthcare Clinics come to the rescue.
My Top 3 Times I Needed a Walgreens Healthcare Clinic
1. Last year we decided to enroll Austin into the K12 homeschool program. Although we had made the decision to homeschool quite some time before, it was only during the summer we decided we would give K12 a try. I was very pregnant and due to have our little one slightly early, just about the time Austin was due to start school. We didn’t realize that just to enroll, since it is a program through the state school system, he would need his vaccinations up-to-date as well as a school physical. This truly couldn’t have come at a worse time for me as I could barely move around myself.
Our doctor’s office was out of the vaccination Austin needed at the time so it was going to require not just one, but two visits to two separate offices, just to get him enrolled in kindergarten. Both could easily been taken care of with one simple visit to a Walgreens Healthcare Clinic.
2. Bryan is highly allergic to poison ivy. No matter how hard he tries to avoid it, during the summer months he gets it usually two or three times. Nothing over the counter seems to bring him any relief but he uses a prescription cream that helps. It is so much easier to keep at bay if you catch it early. Last summer it was a Friday evening when he realized that he was breaking out and only had enough cream to treat one leg. To say it was a long weekend was an understatement! A trip Walgreens Healthcare Clinic would have been able to save the weekend!
3. My sister and I decided to travel to Florida just a few months after we lost my Mother. We needed a break and wanted to see family so we loaded the kids in the car and kissed our husbands good-bye. Two days after pulling into Orlando, Austin woke up crying and his ear was bright red. He had never had an ear infection before, but we were experienced with Addie in that department unforunately. I knew that is what it was but it was the weekend so we couldn’t get a hold of our doctor and we were out of state. Although his insurance wouldn’t cover it we decided we would take him to an out-patient urgent care center. It was going to bust my budget and mean that we wouldn’t be making it to Animal Kingdom but what good would going be if Austin wasn’t healthy enough to enjoy it?
My Grandma suggested we try out the Walgreens Healthcare Clinic Orlando. Not only could we walk-in and see someone that day, it was just about the same price as a doctor’s visit. Yes, it was an unexpected expense but one that wouldn’t totally bust our budget and most importantly, Austin could be seen my a Healthcare Professional that same day!
We received great service and were able to get in to be seen in about 25 minutes. He not only had one severe ear infection, he had double ear infections. We were able to start antibiotics that very same day and within just a few days he was his happy self again! Although it was an unexpected expense, it was manageable and we were still able to visit the Animal Kingdom later in the week!
When we started our trip I would have never guessed we would be in need of medical care during our two weeks away from home but I am so thankful that we were able to get the help we needed from a company we trusted.
