Having a small house that is being remodeled and two toddlers, we are always looking for more storage solutions. When my son was born my Grandma purchased a cubby storage system and we have loved it. It is easy for the children to use themselves but is cute enough that I am happy to have it in their room.
With getting close to moving Addie into her room we have been looking for something similar but wanted to make sure we selected an eco-friendly option. After doing a little bit of looking we came across Way Basics.
They have a huge selection of storage options from bookshelves to benches and cubes. They are modern and unique in many ways. I was attracted to the fact that they are not made from particle board chips but rather they are made from what they have termed as zBoards. Boards are made almost entirely (99%) from post-consumer recycled paper, and do not consume additional natural resources. While they are very strong, paper zBoards are extremely lightweight.
Since these are being put into my children’s room, I also wanted to be sure that the product was safe and would not be releasing off-gasses. Products made with formaldehyde will release the gas into the air. When high concentrations of formaldehyde are off-gassed and then breathed in, it can cause health problems. There is no formaldehyde used in Way Basics products. They also use a water-based glue that is completely environmentally friendly, and recyclable as well!
The third reason I love Way Basics is that they are beyond easy to assemble. No tools are required, they simple adhere with some amazingly strong 3M adhesive. The kids and I put them together in a matter of minutes. The adhesive is strong so just make sure they are lined up good and you are all set!
They are very reasonably priced so if you are looking for a fun and environmentally friendly storage piece, look no further than Way Basics.
Disclosure: I received a product from Way Basic to review. As always, all opinions expressed are 100% my own.
