2016 Summer Bucket List

This post was sponsored by SwimWays as part of an Activation for Influence Central. I received products to facilitate my review.

For the last couple of summers, we have sat down and talked about some of the things we wanted to be able to accomplish during our time off from school during the summer months.  The children are usually full of ideas, some are simple requests that are easily doable, others are much bigger requests that when we are realistic, just aren’t possible.  This summer, I am happy to say, that even though a trip to Walt Disney World was taken off the table, when we were finished with our 2016 summer bucket list everyone was happy.

Here are our summer plans:

  • Trip to a water park
  • Trip to the zoo
  • Make huge DIY bubble wands
  • Catch fireflys
  • Go fishing
  • Watch a movie outdoors
  • Have a glow-in-the-dark party
  • Plant a garden
  • Ride a rollercoaster
  • Visit Silver Dollar City (several times)
  • Take a train ride
  • Play mini-golf
  • Visit the Science Museum
  • Learn how to ride a bike without training wheels
  • Jump rope
  • Make a DIY volcano
  • Blow lots of bubbles
  • Eat watermelon
  • Make homemade ice cream
  • Run in the sprinklers
  • Dig for diamonds (at Craters of Diamonds State Park)
  • Go to a movie theater
  • Have a water balloon fight
  • Go ziplining
  • Take swimming lessons
  • Swim at the pool
  • Swim at the creek

The ones above in blue are the ones we have been able to cross off our list so far this summer!  We have made a great dent, but still have lots more to go.  This summer has been full of smiles, memories and lots of family time.  It has truly been such a treat for our family to have my husband home with us these last few weeks, so we have made so many memories together, as a family.  Recently we were able to spend a lazy afternoon exploring and swimming at the creek.  The weather was perfect, the water was cool and the smiles were abundant.

We played in the shallow area with water only inches deep chasing minnows.  Austin figured out how to ride the current of the creek through the deeper trenches to be taken down stream.  And the girls had a blast being pulled around by Daddy in what they called their throne, which was actually a SwimWays Spring Float Recliner floating lounger.  We have an assortment of blow-up loungers, rings and toys but this one is hands down a favorite.   The Spring Float line is the only float on the market with patented Inner Spring Technology which allows it to be easily inflated, closed and carried.

All of the children loved that the Spring Float Recliner had a headrest and fun place to put their feet.  It has a soft mesh seat that sits in the water and allows you to remain cool.  It offers great support and allowed me to feel safe sitting it in, as well as stability for my children who loved being able to have a float they felt secure in.

It has a special fabric covered exterior, and has an amazing design with springs that offers support, but allows for you to fold it down into a small space when being stored.  We have decided we might just have to purchase another one for our family of six to share.  You can purchase Swimways at Walmart and can learn more by visiting the Swimways website.

So now that we have shared some of our summer bucket list items, I would love to know what all you have planned for the summer of 2016!
