From that moment we find out we are going to be a mother, we have nine months to think about all the memories to be made.  Most of us daily think about what life will be like once they arrive.  When that time comes and we do become new mothers all that time we have spent thinking about our baby’s firsts, can’t possibly prepare us for the emotions that are soon to follow.

From that first smile.

Their first tummy roll.

The first time they sit up.

That first attempt to crawl or scoot.

Their first wobbly step.

Their first tooth.

Their first tears…You get the picture.  Those are moments we don’t get to repeat.  They are truly special moments to be cherished.  Moments we wish we could freeze in time.

Since we have recently moved into a new home, we are getting to have so many firsts over again.  The two “big” kids just spent their first night together in a new bedroom.  The baby had her first bath in the new home.  And we have so many plans for other “firsts” to be repeated or made in our new house.

While we are still experiencing many firsts, there are some things that will remain the stay the same.  No matter if they are five days, five months or five years old, we want to protect them with everything we have.  As parents we want them to excel in what their heart desires.  We want them to be happy.  We want to protect them and give them the best care.

Sometimes that care can be something really simple, little things we do in our every day lives.  For myself, I always try to make sure I try to avoid exposing their little bodies to harmful chemicals. It is crazy to think of some of the products found in everyday items are considered safe for our babies.  There are a few brands that I really trust on my children and with the ones that have more sensitive skin, I love Weleda.

Weleda is a brand that I use myself.  Based in Europe, they develop plant based medicines and natural products for over 90 years.  When they announced they were releasing a new line, the Weleda Baby Derma White Mallow Collection I knew it was something I wanted to try on the kids.  All three of my children have skin sensitivities and tend to break out with many diaper products, lotions, detergents and lotions.

What is different about this line over other natural products?

The collection harnesses the power of organic white mallow extract, pansy extract, coconut oil, borage seed oil and sweet almond oil to calm irritated skin and strengthen its natural protective barrier. These key ingredients have been trusted and used in homeopathy to treat childhood eczema for ages.  As a result of the ingredients, the products were awarded the esteemed National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance.

The face cream and body lotion are thick and smooth.  Being fragrance-free, they don’t contain irritants that have been added to make it smelly.  The light scent is from the natural ingredients it contains.

I was so excited to try the Baby Derma White Mallow Diaper Rash Cream.  The baby battles with a dairy allergy and when she is exposed, her tummy is often unhappy for quite a while.  It seemed to soothe immediately.   She is now on an antibiotic after a long battle with a bug and I am happy to have this on hand.  The pharmaceutical-grade zinc oxide and extracts of white mallow, are very effective in soothing her sore, irritated skin.

You can’t find Weleda products on the shelves of most supermarkets but you can easily find them at Whole Foods Market, select natural health food stores, buybuyBaby and at  To try out these amazing products for yourself, you can snag 20% off by using promo code WELEDABABY on through June 30, 2015.
