Now a days there is so much debate on what is best for the baby. Everyone has their own opinion and feelings and really, as long as a baby is healthy and fed doe it matter if it comes from a bottle or a breast? I have ben blessed with being able to breast feed all four of my babies but also have pumped with each child and used a bottle. This was a necessity when I worked full time and somewhat for my own sanity after that that, sometimes Mamas need a short break.
It took some time to learn the ins and outs of using a breast pump but we did it successfully! My biggest words of advice are to decide not to give up and find someone for support. I started using a breast pump at the hospital when my first son was born a preemie and was in the NICU. To be honest, I hadn’t really given it much thought before that. I knew I intended to pump after I returned to work, but I hadn’t even looked at breast pumps yet. The lactation consultants at the hospital were amazing to offer support, provide a pump, location to pump and offer kind words of advice and guidance. My pump became my faithful companion that would then be used for the next 18 months, every single day, even with breast feeding.
That was my first, now I am on my fourth and I have pumped with each child. I can rightly say I am very comfortable pumping, offering advice and encouragement to new moms starting their journeys. We have been loving our Philips Avent Double Electric Breast Pump. You can read more about that here.
The Philips Natural Bottles are a perfect addition to be used with the Avent Double Electric Breast Pump. They provide a perfect transition between bottle and breastfeeding. You can read all about them here.
I had no idea that babies would be so picky when it came to bottles and pacifiers. My first son would only drink from one type of bottle, period. I just assumed that my next abby would take them also, wrong! She wouldn’t despite trying again and again. She had her own type of bottles she preferred.
Avent also has a Classic Design Bottle that compliments their line perfectly. It is clinically proven to reduce colic and fussing with a new one-piece, anti-colic system has an innovative valve integrated into the nipple. If you haven’t had a child with colic, you just don’t understand the importance of doing anything to help! Avent has thought of that on the front end and is taking care of everything they can to make feeding your little as easy as possible.
The Classic Bottle has a wide design and has only three parts for easier cleaning and assembly. Since it is easier to clean, it allows for a more hygienic feeding. Plus it is perfectly deigned to transition into the next phase, a sippy cup. You can see why Miss B loves her Penguin Sippy cups here.
