Creating a Mom Cave with La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery

Without going into a lot of very long details, we purchased a fixer-upper over eight years ago.  We have gutted one end of the house twice due to a mold issue.  Once the mold issue was repaired permanently, our bedroom has sat ever since, along with what was my gorgeous walk-in closet.  Recently my husband has gotten motivated again to finish our bedroom.  With new drywall in place, textured and painted, a new ceiling fan hung and new flooring being put down; I can’t tell you how excited I am.  It is an open slate just waiting for me to get started.

As a result of the mold, we previously had gotten rid of all our of furniture with the exception of our bed.  Now we have an empty room and more exciting is the fact I get to drool and shop for inspiration.  I started with searching out some of the new pieces from La-Z-Boy.

My goal is to set up my room so that I have a work area designated just for me.  What Mama that works from home doesn’t need that, right?  I need a space to sit down that is my own, an area that is my zen.  Being that my goal is to start blogging early in the morning before the rest of the family rises, I need a space for motivation, what I would consider a Mom Cave.  For me, I don’t have the luxury of having a complete room for myself but I don’t truly need that.  The space I have is large enough for a La-Z-Boy chair and a loveseat which truthfully, is where most of my blogging happens anyways, not at a desk.

Mom Cave Ideas

To begin with, I had to dream.  If money were no object, what pieces of La-Z-Boy furniture would I be interested in.  The La-Z-Boy is an iconic brand celebrating their 85th year and is associated with comfort, style, quality and integrity.  Most of us know the La-Z-Boy name and associate it with recliners, sofas, sectionals and loveseats but they also offer a full range of furniture beyond that.

While shopping I was not surprised by the amazing choices.  Not only do they have a complete selection to shop from that is huge, offering pieces for anyone’s tastes, as they offer so many options with customization.  There are over 900 covers (in fabric and leather) to use with more than 250 different frames, talk about options!

After doing some searching, I fell in love with this Rex loveseat.  I love the texture and color scheme offered in this model and would personally choose an Tarragon fabric.  The color would be perfect with bright throw pillows and with toddlers would also not show spots easily.  That is highly important to me!

Hands down I love the Daphne chair and a half that also is available in a twin sleeper sofa that would come in handy.  There are 919 fabric options available for this model.  I think I would have to go with the Sunscope; it is so fun.

With not using a desk, I do want to have a side table and I thought the Marika chair side table would be perfect.  I love the height and the style.

I browsed the La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries Online Catalog and their website for ideas but if you live close to a La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery you can take advantage of their free In-Home Design Assistance from professionals that are experienced at helping turn your design dreams into reality.   A La-Z-Boy designer will even visit your homes to help you design your space so it fits comfortably into your home and budget.  How cool is that!

  1. The inspiration board you created is lovely! I can’t imagine how frustrating the mold situation must have been, although certainly a bright point that you can refit your room! I have to agree with you on the zen factor – having an area to relax and focus is so important! Thank you for sharing your finds!
