Easy Basic Cake Recipe

This cake is very moist & delicious!  Best of all it is super easy to make!  It is for a 9×9 pan or can be used for cupcakes!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  •   3/4cup milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9×9 inch pan or butter a muffin tin for cupcakes.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. 
  3. Then stir in the milk until the batter is smooth. Pour batter into the prepared pan. 
  4. Bake for 30 to 33 minutes in the preheated oven. For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes.
