Finding the Right Balance

Disney vacation with daisy

These last few weeks while we have been on vacation and working in between I have had a great time but have been left physically and mentally exhausted.  Things that just a few years ago would have been no issue left me winded and sore for more a day.  I have been talking about taking more time to take care of myself and I have decided that despite the craziness of the next few months that I am not going to wait.  I am going to find a good mind-body balance so I can spend more time enjoying life with my family.

This vacation has been great for my family in so many ways.  Who doesn’t love taking vacations?  We sure do but this was more than just a vacation, it was the first step in the right direction for my husband and I to make major life changes.  It was frightening and exciting all mixed together.  I love that through my work I am able to be home with my children, give them experiences we otherwise wouldn’t have (like the awesome vacation we are on) and still be able to contribute to our family’s income significantly.

On this trip we were able to stay at Disney for a blogging conference, it was amazing, as was the time enjoying the resort.  We rode the monorail and explored other hotels in the evening time, we swam in the pool and enjoyed the hot tub and stayed up to watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.  Those days were nothing short of magical but by the end of the conference my joints were aching and I was exhausted.  Through and through, exhausted and we hadn’t even gone into the parks yet.

After the conference I felt more drained than I could have imagined.  Then after spending a day walking the Magic Kingdom with my two youngest I didn’t think I would have the energy for the work I had the following week plus all the fun things we had planned in between.  Then I realized I had left my vitamins at home.  It is amazing how a few days of going without vitamins when your body is used to them can make such a difference.

I have taken prenatal vitamins for almost nine years due to being pregnant and nursing during that time.  Recently, at the suggestion of my orthopedic doctor I have started to take a supplement specifically geared to help my joints.  With a bad lower back, hips and knees, I decided it couldn’t hurt.  So I headed to my local Walmart to see what my options were.  I settled on Nature Made® vitamins because of their everyday low prices.  Nature Made® is the #1 Pharmacist Recommended brand for many key dietary supplement categories*  Nature Made® has a variety of vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS) to help support nutritional gaps with your health goals in mind ranging from Digestive Support, Heart Health & Function, Energy Metabolism, Women’s Health and much more! †  I was easily able to find what I needed.
