I would like to thank Poise for sponsoring today’s discussion about pregnancy!
You know that moment when you first find out you are pregnant! Some of us giggled with excitement, it may have been nervous laughter, or there may have even been tears involved. For myself, I experienced all three. Three is my number. Once you get over those initial feelings, the excitement kicks in and I think inherently we start thinking about what it to come…the pregnancy glow, feeling the baby move inside us, the baby shower and eventually bringing the baby home. Personally, I loved feeling the baby move but my pregnancies were full of nausea, swelling and light bladder leakage. So I adjusted and learned to cope.
Being the type of person that doesn’t like to be the center of attention, the baby showers were fun, but a little awkward. Not only are you the center of attention, but you are opening gifts in front of everyone. Thankfully, everyone is usually drooling over the tiny clothes and newborn essentials to make too much of a fuss.
One of my favorite parts of the baby showers are the games! It gives everyone a chance to relax, let loose and interact. One of my favorite baby shower games in the “What’s in your Purse” game. It really gives you a little glimpse into everyone’s personal lives. Me, I carry around half my house in my bag but others get by with a minimal four to five things.
You can print the following, “What’s In Your Purse?” game sheet by clicking on the photo and opening the attached Google document. It will print four to a page on standard paper. Give each guest a page and a pencil/pen. Each item is worth one point, so if they have 24 crayons, they get 24 points. If they are really prepared and have 10 diapers, they get 10 points. You get the idea and then have everyone total their points and the one with the highest points is the winner!
Baby shower games are usually so much fun! Many are made to make you chuckle. While pregnant, okay and even now, that tended to pose a problem. I struggled with LBL during all three pregnancies. Just like everything else in life, there are solutions. I couldn’t rid myself of it, just as I couldn’t my swollen feet but I could have confidence with light bladder leakage since I was always armed with a Poise® Microliner. Unlike a thick uncomfortable pad, they are super thin and because they are made from SAM (Super Absorbent Material), I was confident to giggle and laugh as much as I wanted without worrying what would show through.
There are some women that are truly blessed that have blissful pregnancies. For those of us that can only dream of that it is important to do everything you can to make yourself comfortable and confident. If that means soaking your feet everyday, do it! If that means wearing a Poise® Microliner, know you are not alone! Want to try them out? Visit the Poise® website to try the new Poise® Microliner for yourself.
