Free Museum Admission on Museum Day Live!

Museum of Discovery Little Rock Arkansas

I don’t know about your family, but we absolutely love visiting museums.  They are always so much hands on fun but so educational at the same time.  When you ask what they want to do for the day, after the requests to go to Disney World, Silver Dollar City or Great Wolf Lodge comes requests for our Discovery Museum.  When you have children of different age ranges, children’s museums are a great way to keep everyone engaged.

Free Museum Admission

For the first time ever, Smithsonian magazine has partnered with Microsoft for Smithsonian’s 13th annual Museum Day Live! taking place on Saturday, September 23, 2017. For one day, participating museums across the United State emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based facilities, which offer free admission everyday, and open their doors for free to visitors who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.

This year, along with Microsoft, special interactive lesson plans were created using Minecraft: Education Edition.  This will create a very unique interactive experience in each of the participating museum.  If you have kiddos who are love Minecraft, this will be such a fun experience for them to take their love of a game into a real world environment.  Want to get an idea of the lesson plans?  You can take a peak at the lesson plans here.

There are over 1,100 museums across the country that are participating in the Museum Day Live! To see if there is a museum close to you, search here.  Then be sure to grab your ticket so you can get your entrance into Museum Day Live! free!  This gives families, especially big families like my own, a chance to get out an explore a new museum for the day for free.  Just be sure to grab your Museum Day Live! tickets before heading into the museum.

What is your family’s favorite museum to visit?
