Greatful for the Little Things

Oh what unexpected things life can throw at us.  My two year old has been ill starting Friday evening.  Today I took her into the doctor and he thinks she once again has pnemonia!  She had her first bout with it when she was only 7 months old; she was hospitalized for treatment.  Today seemed like her worst day yet, she would hardly keep her eyes open this morning they were all swollen and she told me how “yucky” they felt.  I fell so helpless unable to make her feel better other than holding and comforting her.

We were sent over to the hospital for a chest x-ray and I was holding my breath they would not put her back into this contraption she had been in previously to hold her still.  They didn’t, she was allowed to stand, which I was so greatful for!  They suited me up and I was able to stand by her side and hold her hand.  She did great, not even shedding a tear.

When she came out of the room where her x-rays were taken, Austin hugged his little sister and told her how proud he was she was so brave.  Despite how bad she felt, she immediately perked up.  That little bit of encouragement from her Bubba even got her to try to skip on the way out!  It is the cutest thing to see her try to skip!

When I am having a bad day or tear up, if either of my children notic,e they come quickly with their hugs and kisses to tell me it will all be okay and that they love me.  It is amazing how those little words or actions can affect how we are felling.  As you will find out if you frequent my blog, my children are the beat to my heart.  I can not imagine my life without them.  They make me want to be a better person, a better mother, and a better me!

Never take forgranted how small your actions may be, that being thoughtful in word or deed may affect someone else more greatly than we may ever know.
