Interactive Fun with Lights and Shadows with Kiwi Crate

As you know, we are huge fans of our Kiwi Crate boxes!  The past month, which we didn’t get around to posting about was all about lights & shadows.

The box came equipped with all the goodies we needed to create a shadow show on the walls, including hand cranked flash lights.  Score!  The kids were super excited with these alone.  We were able to have a fun evening creating shadows of various shapes while telling stories (Addie is very good at this right now.)

We spent another afternoon creating our very own kaleidoscopes.  We were provided bright-colored stickers of various shapes, a wheel to decorate and a reflective cardboard box that would make the body of our kaleidoscopes.

The children had so much fun given free rein to cover their wheels with stickers.

With the leftover stickers they added a few to each of the bodies.  After a quick assembly we were all ready to go.

Then we stood looking outside for almost an hour comparing colors and rainbows.  It was like they discovered color for the first time.

Take a glimpse inside the kaleidoscopes…

I think what makes the Kiwi Crate boxes so special for our children is that they are geared for children their ages.  They feel so accomplished to be able to make something by themselves with a little guidance from Mama.  To see how excited them become as their projects progress is very heart warming.

Kiwi Crate is an awesome service that provides a themed monthly boxes that each contain 2-3 activities to engage your child.  Each Kiwi Crate box is $19.95 shipped.  You can sign-up to receive one box, 3 month, 6 months, 12 months or give a gift card of any amount.  I can honestly say, we have loved our Kiwi Crate boxes from the first one we started receiving back in April.  If you are signing up for the first time, you can use this link to get $5 off your first subscription box.  If you are looking to get a gift for someone special, considering gifting a Kiwi Crate box to give interactive fun!
