Menu Planning Monday Week of 10/31/11 to 11/06/11

One vital way I have found to save money is to create a meal plan.  I find that if I don’t work out a meal plan, we end up grabbing things on the go or eating out unhealthy options.
Creating a meal plan so that I know what I am making each day helps me stay on point.  Since I only go to Whole Foods once a month or so & I order from Azure Standard once a month I usually create a monthly plan so I can purchase things I need that I can not purchase locally.
To save money I try to build my menu’s off of what I already have on hand and around what is on sale.  Last week was a very difficult week and it was Thursday before I realized that my meal plan had not been posted yet!  So I decided to wait until this week to post.  I did do well however with cooking last week.
I have joined the Keeper of the Home’s Meal Planning Challenge and it is hard to believe that it is week 6!

This week forward my goal is to try to post at least one new recipe a week with the cost breakdown!  We have been eating mostly organically for quite a while now but we want to try to transition into just whole foods now and cut out even more refined foods even if they are organic.  We don’t eat a tremendous amount now but have convenient organic snack foods always on hand.

If you are trying to change the way you eat, either by adding organic products into your diet or making the switch to whole foods, I would love for you to share how your journey is going!

Thank-you! I have enjoyed being a part of the group. We are trying to switch to whole foods and I want others to see that with simple meals it can be affordable!
