My GE Simple Service Project Donation with Champions for Kids

Last week I wrote about participating in my first ever Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service Project with GE Lighting. I love being a part of spreading the word about going green with SIMPLE everyday changes we can make. Check out just how much you can save my making the switch in your home lighting to energy-efficient light bulbs.

Champions for Kids is an organization that believes that through training and giving, everyday people, like you and I can make small changes to improve the lives of children all across America.  There is goal is to get 20 Million people involved by 2020.  This month the focus was on encouraging us to make the change to energy-efficient lighting with GE Lighting.  Then we were then encouraged to make a donation of cfl light bulbs or led light bulbs to an organization that helps children in need to save money and energy.  (Of course I was totally into that!)

After shopping for some energy-efficient light bulbs it was time to make our donation.  This week I had an afternoon with a little time and decided to make my way over to the UAMS Kids First Building.

This is a new program to our area but UAMS Kids First is part of the UAMS hospital which I highly respect.  I delivered my first son at UAMS where we remained a week and had a great experience!

Since this organization is focused on helping children with special needs, I decided it would be a great place to make my SIMPLE Service donation.

You don’t need to have or spend a lot of money to make a difference!  That is what Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service projects are all about.  I would love to encourage you to go out and participate in the GE Lighting Simple Service Champions for Kids Project.  To get you started, here is a coupon that you can use for yourself or share with others to purchase GE Energy Efficient Light Bulbs.

GE is also giving everyone an incentive to help out with the Champions for Kids Simple Service Project. When you participate in your own GE Energy Smart Challenge they will enter you in a chance to win a $100 Walmart gift card for the classroom or charity of your choice!

To get you started on your GE Energy Smart Challenge, right now you can also get an online printable GE Lighting coupon.

To connect with the Champions for Kids to find out about the various challenges they are participating in, be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook.  I would highly recommend following this month’s sponsor GELighting on Twitter and Facebook for great energy-saving tips and coupons!

As part of my partnership with GE, I received coupons for some of my GE light bulbs.  All opinions posted about my GE Lighting experience are my own.  I am a member of the Collective Bias™ Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective BiasChampions for Kids and GE Lighting #CBias #SocialFabric.

  1. We’ve transferred all of our bulbs over to CFLs and haven’t looked back since. It makes such a difference. And I love that you’re making a difference too by giving back.
