My Goals: What I Want to Accomplish in 2013

While I have to say I fell pretty flat with accomplishing many of my project goals I sent out at the beginning of 2012.  I did complete some of them, but truthfully learned so much in the process.  This was my first full year to really work at blogging and as I posted last week, I learned so many things I don’t want to do going into 2013.  I also learned many awesome and amazing things that I am looking forward to working on this year.

I love to set goals.  It gives me something to work towards, I have a purpose.  I enjoy making lists just as much, feeling that sense of accomplishment when I cross each item off is so worth it.

Going into 2013 I want to be more intentional and purposeful with my life, blogging included.  After much consideration this is what I hope to focus on this year:

  • Set office hours to work (not blogging hap-haphazardly)
  • Take off writing on Sunday
  • Create a content schedule at least one month in advance
  • Work on scheduling posts out one week in advance
  • Focus on increasing Social Media interactions (20 minutes daily a minimum)
  • Guest post on another blog once a month
  • Attend SoFabCon blogging conference in May!  So excited 🙂

  • Start an early morning routine (for blogging and personal Bible study)
  • Read the Bible daily
  • Get to a comfortable, healthy weight (loose 25 pounds)
  • Finish four old craft projects
  • Finish four scrap-booking pages a month
  • Read six leisure books
  • Write a personal letter twice monthly
  • Take a care basket to a family once a month

  • Start Pre-School with Addie
  • Continue with Pre-School and start Kindergarten with Austin
  • Take monthly fun but educational field trips
  • Take a family vacation
  • Have a weekly family worship night
  • Set monthly goals as a family
  • Finish remodeling our bedroom, closet and bathroom

Although there are many other things I would love to accomplish and set goals on, I don’t want to set myself up for failure.  I want this year to be focused, intentional and attainable.   My intentions are to set bite size goals monthly to help me accomplish my yearly goals.  Things always are easier to accomplish in small bites.

Do you set goals?  What do you plan to accomplish in 2013?

  1. I like that one of your goals is to take Sundays off from blogging – nice to have a day not to worry about it! I like your list of projects, too. I haven’t added those to my goal list.
