Okabashi Eco-Friendly Sandals Review {Sponsor Spotlight} #MomMeTime

Did you know that over 2 billion pairs of footwear are sold in the US each and every year and that 99% are made overseas?  Can you believe that!  When I came across Okabashi Sandals I was immediately impressed.  First off, their sandals are all made and shipped from their facilities in Georgia and their manufacturing facilities are zero waste.  So think of it this way, an average pair of Okabashi sandals may have to travel up to 700 miles to reach their owner versus over 11,000 miles for a pair of imported sandals that were manufactured from overseas!  How is that for reducing your carbon footprint!

So how are the sandals made?  Well that is impressive as well!  All Okabashi sandals are vegan friendly, 100% recyclable and made from up to 25% recycled materials.   Okabashi was able to regrind and reuse over 100,000 lbs of scrap material last year alone!   Not only are they guaranteed for two years but when the life of your sandal is over they are 100% recyclable!  You can either call your local recycling center or visit 1800recycling.com to find out where you can recycle your Okabashi’s with #3.  Or you can even send in your worn pair back to Okabashi and receive a special coupon for your next purchase!

They are machine washable and even dishwasher safe.  They are made anti-microbial and anti-slip.  I have to say I love all of the above but what do I love the most?  That they are amazingly comfortable!  I have degenerative disk disease and have lower back pain, so I love the massaging insoles.  Okabashi are the only shoes endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association!   I can truly see why.  They are so comfortable and have great arch support.  I have to say, I am so much more about comfort than I am with looks, but these offer both.
