Our Robot @KiwiCrate Fun Box

This month when our Kiwi Crate box arrived, we were away.  The kids were beyond excited to come home and find their green box waiting for them.  This month’s theme was all about Robots!  We have been very pleased with our boxes in the past and this month was no exception.  If you are not familiar with Kiwi Crate boxes they are a monthly subscription kids activity box, geared towards children ages 3-7.  Each month has a different theme and includes materials for 2-3 craft activities or science experiments.  These boxes are $19.95 each month and if you have more than one child you can pay $7.95 for supplies for each additional child, so they can all do the same activities!

This first activity we choose to tackle was the creating a robot to go over a mini wind-up robot that was included.  Once you made your robot, you placed it over the wind up robot and watched it go!  Both children loved this activity with the shiny papers they cut shapes from, gear sticker, markers and glue sticks; they were happy kids!

These were Austin’s “Bots”.  They both thought the little blue robot looked like Walle.

Can you tell they were excited?  Austin was full of funny faces.  In this activity you created a robot from a magnetic box and wooden parts that were included.  You then used the yellow wands that had magnets in them to guide the robots through the mazes and shapes that were included.

I was so proud of Addie drawing her robot’s face.  Then she decorated it’s arms.

Austin loved that his robot followed his every move. After we were finished we used the magnetic wands to find other objects in our home they would attract.  This was not only fun but also educational.

I signed up for a Kiwi Crate subscription in May and we haven’t looked back!  If you are thinking of giving Kiwi Crate a try, sign-up through this link to get $10 off your first box, making it only $9.95.  You can cancel or pause it at any time.  I love that each box also offers additional activity ideas as well so the fun doesn’t have to stop with the box!

I would highly suggest giving Kiwi Crate a try if you have young ones!

  1. Those robots are adorable, and it looks like your kids had a blast with their Kiwi Crates! My younger stepdaughter is extremely creative and is always working on some kind of art project. I think she would absolutely love these!

  2. These are so nice. The kids can open them up and be excited about all the fun things they find in the kiwiCrate to do. They would also make nice gift for birthdays or Christmas to. The are geared to children 3 to 7 years of age.

  3. Those projects look like lots of fun, love the robot theme. It seems nice to have a ready made box of fun and not having to come up with and gather supplies.

  4. This is such a great idea, my daughter loves arts and crafts, and I love how everything is packaged and ready to go, since I’m not very good at coming up with creative ideas of stuff for her to make 🙂

  5. What a fun idea! Looks like your kids had a blast. Bella adores getting mail of any kind. These kits would be right up her street!

  6. I adore robots! I cannot wait until my son is old enough to do these! They might be great for my pre-k class except buying enough supplies for 5 kids could get pricey!

To start, your kids are adorable! I love that you can just order one and the company allows you to just pay for the extra materials – good money saver. I really enjoy reading about eco friendly educational activities!
