I have to say this is my hubby’s favorite homemade pizza! It is really simple to make and so delicious!
Ingredients for crust:
Ingredients for Alfredo sauce:
2 Cups of Cream
1 Stick of Butter
Clove of Garlic Minced
1 Cup of Parmesan Reggiano Cheese (or just Parmesan Cheese if you prefer)
Ingredients needed for the pizza:
2 Cups of Fresh Spinach
8oz Mozzarella Cheese
I use this Homemade Honey Pizza Dough Recipe for the crust. This recipe will make three really nice crusts or four really thin crust pizzas. While it is rising I grate my mozzarella cheese. Then I make this Alfredo Sauce Recipe and add 2 cups of Fresh Spinach after it has simmered about 5 minutes. This recipe will make enough to make two pizzas and have some dipping sauce to serve on the side. If I have leftover chicken I throw some chicken (or turkey) in the Alfredo sauce and it is super yummy!
After I have rolled out my pizza crust I spread several tablespoons of the Alfredo sauce over the crust. Next top with mozzarella cheese. I bake it at 375 for 22-25 minutes. Serve with a small Alfredo sauce on the side for dipping!
Beware as this pizza can be very addicting!
Here is the cost breakdown for this recipe:
- The ingredients in the crust cost $3.58 divided by three=$1.20 per pizza.
- The ingredients for the Alfedo sauce cost $5.91
- 8oz Mozzarella Cheese $2.25 @ Azure Standard for Bulk Mozzarella
- 2 cups of Organic Spinach $1.85 @ Kroger for $3.69 5oz Package
Total Cost for this recipe=$12.41 for two pizzas paying full price for all ingredients!!
Again I always try to get things on sale & with coupons. If I use the cream that comes with my milk and get the spinach on manager’s special at Kroger I can make these two recipes for $7.97. I will soon be making my own mozzarella cheese to save even more!
