It has already happened in many areas. A select few are still holding out, enjoying the last days of their 2014 summer vacation. For our family, we have embarked on our 2014-2015 school year. Yes, we homeschool but we are using the ARVA (K-12) program so we have a more structured school program, and a teacher that holds us accountable. This is our second year with Miss Lindsay as Austin’s teacher and he loves his weekly class session.

We will soon be meeting her for our annual testing and Austin wanted to take her something special. After a little thought, it was a no brainer in Austin’s mind, he wanted to give her candy but not just any candy, SMARTIES. He thought it would be cute to give her smarties! Then away we went to create a cute tag for the gift.

This project turned out so cute and was so simple.  I visited our local Dollar Tree and picked up two bags of Smarties and let Austin choose a glass jar with a lid.  I love that they always have a changing selection of glass jars and containers. I used ribbon I had on hand to attach the tag.

Once we printed off the gift tags, it was a matter of minutes for Addie to fill the jar, tie a ribbon and attach the gift tag.  Then we had a cute, inexpensive gift ready to go!

Click on the image below and it will open a Google document.  You can print out as many as you like, there are four tags to page.  If you have the ability to print it to cardstock, it will make the tag look nicer.

For just a few dollars and a couple of minutes you will have great teachers gifts ready to go!

Do you give gifts to your children’s teachers at the beginning or end of the year, or both?
