When I found out I was pregnant I knew what I had planned for this year. Although having another baby was not on the list, it was quickly added when we found out we were expecting on January 2nd. Officially starting our homeschooling journey and having two very active kids was going to be a challenge with a newborn. Although we would be starting over in the baby department, I was relieved that with this baby I knew what type pf products I would truly use and need, versus just loading up on a bunch of items that we wouldn’t use.
One of the items that topped my list was an awesome baby carrier. I carefully researched the various types available and quickly narrowed it down with the Boba brand topping my list. I did practice baby wearing previously but not much as with an infant, rather with a little bit larger child. With baby Bethany I knew that baby wearing would be so vital from the beginning to be able to function in our routine with homeschooling. When Boba offered to send me one of their carriers to review, I was beside myself excited!
Baby wearing is so much more than just needing functionality it also is bonding and I love having my little ones close. Even my petite just turned four-year old loves to be worn and be close. With the soft structured Boba 3G carrier you can carry infants from 7lbs all the way up to 45lbs!
Boba offers several innovative features not seen on other carriers:
The foot straps attached to the waist belt keep older children comfortable while enabling a healthy sitting position. The footstraps not only give tired little legs a rest, but support the legs in a flexed abducted (froglike) position which naturally tilts the pelvis, fills out the hip sockets and aligns the spine.
The Boba Carrier may be converted to a newborn carrier without an infant insert or any additional items and used well into toddlerhood.
Boba has a few extra inches of height to keep your center of gravity closer to your body and support your little one’s back. The Boba Carrier 3G is approximately 2-3” higher than other soft structured carriers.
The new 3G design is made to fit parents of all shapes and sizes without purchasing an extension belt or accessory. All straps are fully adjustable, and elastic bands are provided so you can comfortably tuck the straps away once you have the carrier adjusted for you and your child.
I have yet to be able to try the Boba 3G carrier myself, as Bethany is just now 6 pounds again , so my sister put it to great use with my almost six month old nephew. They are a very active, outdoors family and went hiking to put it to good use for us. Baby J loved the comfort as he was sleeping within a few minutes of being placed in the carrier.
With the material being 100% cotton, it very soft and conforms to the baby’s shape for comfort for your little one as well. It has extra padding just where it is needed but not enough to be bulky and awkward. When I first started baby wearing the buckles and straps made me nervous. I wanted to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my precious baby was safe. The buckles used on the Boba 3G are military grade and very durable so that quickly put my mind at ease.
It features a detachable hood, perfect for those days you are out and about and your little one falls asleep. When it is not being used there is a zipper pouch for it to be stored away in. Another exciting feature is that the Boba 3G carrier comes with detachable foot straps! This is genius for toddlers and can’t ait to try out with Addie after I am allowed to lift her again. There is another zipper pouch around the waist for storage for keys, your phone and a small wallet, which is the perfect way to be truly hands free and have what you need.
Overall, I couldn’t be more excited to start using the Boba 3G carrier as soon as Bethany is big enough! The Boba 3G carrier ranges from $120-$125. I have the beautiful SOHO design but it is also available in 8 designs, including an organic option!
