Twenty Ways to Celebrate Earth Day

earth day activities |
Today, April 22nd is officially Earth Day.  Although we hear quite a bit referenced about Earth Day, the meaning of the day is something that for each of us may take on slightly different meaning.

How is Earth Day Defined?

According to Wikipedia, Earth Day is defined as “an annual day on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection.”

What Does Earth Day Mean to You?

For some of us we may use the opportunity to teach our children about ways to protect the earth by recycling, reusing or repurposing.  Some of us may use our gardens to teach our children about sustainability.  Others may plant trees to honor the fact that we need the resources the Earth has been blessed with to continue to call the planet on which we live and love, home.

You may be a family without children or you may be single but there are so many ways we can honor and protect the earth on which we live on Earth Day.

Here are twenty simple ways you can use to teach your kids about Earth Day and have some fun too!
