On our recent family vacation to Branson, we created some great family memories. That first night we arrived we drove down the Branson strip. Although the kids had fallen asleep, they were wide awake and so excited to look at all the flashing lights that the strip has to offer. It is always exciting to experience something through a child’s eyes. Sometimes it is the simplest things bring them such great pleasure.
They pointed out so many of the Branson attractions they wanted to visit as we drove up and down the strip. There was the great Titanic ship that they wanted to stop at right then, there was a couple of race tracks that Austin made sure we knew he wanted to visit, a building they thought looked like the White House, a miniature golf course, complete with a crashed plane and then there was the Great Ape of Branson that was climbing a building. How could they not ask to stop there? They didn’t realize we were only staying for a long weekend but were excited to find out that the Hollywood Wax Museum was on out to-do list for the weekend.
The weather had been quite cold but the weekend we were in Branson it was beautiful! After enjoying our first full day at the Castle Rock Resort & Waterpark we headed out the second day to take in some of the fun tourist attractions. While we originally thought the Hollywood Wax Museum might have been for a little bit older crowd than our kids, they had a great time posing with the wax figures and trying to fit into the movie sets.
There favorite was the front of the ship from Titanic. Maybe it was because we had spent quite a bit of time talking about the Titanic museum. They look pretty cute though!
The Men in Black set was so much fun because Austin had the pose down great! And both kids thought they belonged in the Star Trek set, complete with their famous silly poses and then a more serious one.
When they found out our tickets also included playing miniature golf at their course adjacent to the building they were even more excited! That one was of their requests as we drove the strip so it was a nice surprise for them. Hubby had a great time helping each of the kids putting and they had a blast. It was their first time playing miniature golf and most definitely not their last. Austin asked when we would play again even before we left the course!
Our time with our children is so precious, we only get the opportunities to make those “firsts” once. We strive to make great memories on vacations and fill them with family fun. Our day spent at the Hollywood Wax Museum did just that! We are already discussing our next return trip to Branson to enjoy more of what it has to offer.
Hollywood Wax Museum History
The original Hollywood Wax Museum in Hollywood, CA opened in 1965 and is located in the building that back in the early 1930s housed The Embassy Club, an exclusive entertainment industry nightclub. Each wax figure is a detailed piece of art. Over time and currently, the Hollywood Wax Museum has worked with numerous sculptors, mold makers, and finishers to create life-like wax figures.
There are three Hollywood Wax Museum locations: Hollywood, CA, Branson, MO and Pigeon Forge, TN. All are designed for interaction; rather than walking by and just looking, visitors are encouraged to walk into the open sets and take photos with the figures. Each location is frequently updated to provide the most fun experience possible and to keep you coming back.
The Hollywood Wax Museum in Branson is the most photographed landmark in the region. I can completely understand why with the amazing look of the outside of the building! I didn’t share the wax museum’s take on Mount Rushmore, but you can see it on the outside of the building. It is amazing!
You can connect with the Hollywood Wax Museum on Facebook and Twitter.
Who would you want to see inside the Hollywood Wax Museum?
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
We had one of these in Ocean City MD, where I grew up. It was so creepy!
How fun! My kids would love to do this. My husband and I went to the one in Hollywood but haven’t taken the kids yet.
I have never been to Branson but have heard great things. I love the wax museum photos!
Oh how cool. I have always wanted to go to a wax museum.
I have always wanted to visit one of these. I was outside of the one that’s in Hollywood, but didn’t have time to stop in. Love your photos!
Branson is definitely a place we wish to visit one day. Great pics.
I visited the one in Pigeon Forge a few months ago. It was so much fun!

How fun! I have never been to Branson, but everyone who I do know that goes there always has a great time.
Ooh this looks like a ton of fun for the whole family! Hmm.. I wouldn’t mind seeing Leo if I went there for a visit, he is one of my very favorite actors!
We recently visited the Hollywood Wax Museum in Pigeon Forge. It looks like they have some of the same exhibits. It is a neat place!
Haha I love the one with Leo on the Titanic. Super fun and definitely would love to see this!
So much fun for kids. I remember being mesmerized by the wax museum when I was child. Looks like you have a great time! 🙂
I would love to visit a wax museum some day. This looks like so much fun.
How fun! I’d love to visit this wax museum! 🙂
I’ve been there! Many moons ago! LOL Between my 8th and 9th grade year, we pulled our pop up camper to Branson for a week. Needless to say – the dumbest idea ever! It was humid, hot and downright miserable with no AC in a pop up camper with 5 people in the middle of summer in Branson! We did do the wax museum though and a show!
Love those Star Trek ones – I’d love a picture with Spock, Cpt. Kirk and Bones – we’re a little Star Trek obsessed around here. I’ve only been to a Wax Museum once in Victoria, BC – I’d love to go to this one, it looks like so much fun with plenty of picture opps!
There were tons of picture opps, we had a blast.
I’ve never been to Branson but it sounds like there is a ton to do there! The Hollywood wax museum looks like loads of fun!
