Since I will be participating with Stephanie @ Keeper of the Home’s Pantry & Freezer Cooking Challenge this next four weeks, I tried to base my meals off of what I had on hand. This week I will be purchasing milk & fresh cream, ricotta cheese and possibly eggs. Other than those items, I have everything else I need to make these meals! I am super excited and this week will start sharing what I try to have on hand in my pantry.
Are you willing to challenge yourself to try to use up things you may have had on hand for a while this month? First start by making a list of everything you have perishable in your fridge and what you have in your freezer. Try to base your meals around those items as much as you can. My goal for the month is $200 and using what I have on hand. It should be pretty easy for me, since I will not be purchasing any meats but using what I have on hand and will be receiving from a trade.
So here is what our meals will consist of:
Breakfast-Oatmeal, Baked Apples
Dinner-Lasanga Casserole, Salad
Breakfast-Breakfast Burritos, Cherries
Dinner-Crockpot Venison Roast, Potatoes, Carrots, Fresh Green Beans
Breakfast-Pecan Maple Breakfast Cookies, Fruit
Lunch-Steamed Cabbage with Meatballs and Sauce

Do you have a hard time with meal planning? There is a service, Food on the Table that helps you plan out your meals, based upon what your local grocery stores have on sale. They normally charge $5.00 per month, but right now you can sign up for free for life, using this link and SPRINGFREE.
